Below are some examples of art about genderfluid experience and created by genderfluid people!
poem by Kiley, also known as @genderfluidarchive on Tumblr. Written out and designed by Barb. The images depict a poem written out in a stylized way in a notebook. The poem itself reads:
"Gender Chaos by kiley/kas
i am a boy today
i think
or something
close enough
some days ago
i was a girl
in a black skirt and eyeliner
a genderqueer boygirl
in pajama shorts and lipgloss
a boy
in my college hoodie
genderless
in a disney hoodie
to have a gender
that will always
shift and change
ebb and flow
is beautiful
frustrating
joyful
unpredictable
natural
and chaotic
but most of all
it is just me"
There are yellow flowers and pink lines decorating the empty space on the pages. All of the text is black except for certain words that have been emphasized in color. The title, "Gender Chaos", is written in blue and purple markers. The first "boy" is written in blue, and the first "girl" is written in pink. This is reversed for the words "boy" and "girl" making up the word "boygirl". The last "boy" is written in blue. The word genderless is underlined in green. The words "joyful" "unpredictable" and "natural" are written on a teal sticky note stuck to the notebook page. There are five hearts at the bottom of the page, in the colors of the genderfluid flag.
by @snowyavis on Tumblr. The image is of a watercolor portrait of a softly smiling person with light skin, green eyes, and chin-length gray-brown hair. They are wearing a gray checkered scarf and black shirt. Behind them are flowers in pink, white, purple, black and blue, representing the genderfluid flag. There is a date (Mar. 2024) and signature in the bottom right corner.
by @bepoucorp on Tumblr. The image is of art depicting a vibrantly colored, widely smiling person with messy shoulder-length blue and pink hair. Their face is white, with a slight pink blush over their nose and cheeks. The sclera of their eyes is purple, the iris is black, and the pupil is a white star. Their shirt is purple, and their arms are black (one of their arms is raised so their hand is next to their face) and appear to have blue bones showing through. All of the colors used are from the genderfluid flag. On the right side of the person is a small genderfluid flag, with handwriting style text reading "literally ME" and a blue arrow pointing from the flag to the person. Behind the person is a banner of stripes of blue, pink, and white, the colors of the transgender flag. On the left side of the person, there is more handwriting style text that reads: "Happy Trans Visibility Day!!"
by @transgenderdragons on Tumblr. The image is a colorful, hand-drawn illustration of a person wearing sunglasses with a confident and happy expression. The individual has short, wavy hair and is dressed in a casual, collared shirt with the colored stripes of the genderfluid flag. They are also extending an arm forward, holding a symbol that combines the male ♂ and female ♀ signs. To the top right of the character, in a handwritten font, the words "gender fluid lol" are inscribed.
by Pim, also known as @yeehawpim on Tumblr. The image is a two-panel, black-and-white comic strip with line drawings and text. In the first panel, there are many different animal shapes: a cat, a snake, a monkey, a giraffe, an elephant, insect, turtle, rat, squid, beaver, and a stingray. In the center of the animals, there is text reading: "it'd be kind of weird to call a shape-shifter a turtle just because it turns into one sometimes". The second panel shows a smiling person with a cowboy hat on, surrounded by five thought bubbles containing symbols: a sock, a dress, a box, a shirt, a toy airplane, a doll, and a person holding what looks like a fishing line. In the center of the page, text reads: "I think this is probably what I feel like about consistent pronouns for myself" The artwork is signed with the username @yeehawpim in the lower right corner of the second panel.
