Question: How often does your gender change?
"I would say my gender changes when it wants to. I could see myself as a girl and/or agender for a month before I see myself as boy or vise versa. It could depend on the situation or day. So unpredictable is probably the best answer." - Ess, she/they/him
"My gender changes between anywhere from a few times a day to a few times a week on average." - Kiley, pronounfluid
"I range from changing every few minutes to changing every few days. I know this isn't the same for everyone, but I generally switch about every 1.5 days on average." - Morgan, he/she/they
"It's fluid. It stays in the shorter region, but sometimes I shift a few times a day, and sometimes only after 3 or 4 days." - Nill, he/she/they
"My gender changes randomly, I noticed that it doesn't have a set schedule or time or the such. It just does. I can identify as one way for weeks then another for a few hours to days or even a few minutes. It just all depends." - Cain, it/he/she
Question: How do you feel about being genderfluid in general?
"Being genderfluid can be confusing sometimes. On one hand I feel a constant struggle if I want short hair or long hair because I don't want my hair length to give me discomfort. Likewise I don't know if I want to change my body to appear more masculine or feminine for the long run." - Ess, she/they/him
"I used to struggle with being genderfluid a lot. I had internalized negative messages about it just being a “phase” or not real. I also used to struggle with trying to force myself to stick to one gender. I'm proud to be genderfluid now. I think it's beautiful." - Kiley, pronounfluid
"Being genderfluid helped me in so many ways! I have finally found MY people and my place in this world. Also often I'm a glowing orb of euphoria just because somone called me by my name or when the way I present matches what I want to present as. And I even get euphoria for using the terms connected to my AGAB (assigned gender at birth) like I got a HUGE wave of euphoria because in my head I called myself a lady. In short I love it , although it's still problematic since even my queer friends don't get it, and there are moments where I wish I were "normal"." - Nill, he/she/they
"It feels awesome to be genderfluid I think. Overall I wouldn't change it, it's me." - Cain, it/he/she
Question: How does being genderfluid affect your life? Is there anything else you want to add?
"It made me happier in a sense. I don't feel like I am hiding a part of myself from myself. I use to be scared of even thinking about considering myself to be a boy or agender. I can be honest and know who I am. It gave me confidence to try different styles because there is no one way I express myself. Bonus: I been able to meet a lot of new people who I could talk to and learn alot more about different identities I didn't know before." - Ess, she/they/him
"Being genderfluid affects my life because it's an intrinsic part of my identity and it's always there in the background. If you feel like you might be genderfluid, or if you know you're genderfluid but feel insecure about it or want proof, start keeping a gender journal and track when it changes! One last thing I want to add is that you are valid, you are beautiful, and you are loved." - Kiley, pronounfluid
"Genderfluidity funny enough doesn't affect my everyday life, just tells me how I am for the moment and I embrace it and move on. It's a part of me like how my arm is, it's just me < 3" - Cain, it/he/she
